Three years ago, Microsoft launched a new manager expectations framework designed to help deliver success through empowerment and accountability. The framework, called “Model, Coach, Care,” encouraged leading by example. It also emphasized creating open and trusting environments where people feel they’re supported in their wellbeing, growth, and success. Throughout the pandemic, managers at Microsoft have sought to apply this model.
